This is my first time going to Neway CEO located at Fahrenheit, Bukit Bintang and I think it's the best outlet in KL! The interior is really more superior than the usual Neway outlets.
So this is also my first wine tasting event and I think it is a wonderful experience. I got to learn more about wine and had a sip of the beauty of it.
So these were the 5 types of wine which has just been introduced into Neway CEO's wine list. So next time you and your friends can just go there to sing and drink! How convenient!
The manager is too sweet! We were hungry while waiting for the guests and she served us sushis! AWWWW thank you
Antinori Santa Cristina Campogrande Orvieto Classico 2012
Particularly fruity and elegant on the nose, and on the palate rich, smooth and pleasing.Grape varieties used are those typical to the Orvieto Classico area. In this wine the maximum quantity of the Grechetto variety allowed by the DOC law has been used, and also the introduction of a percentage of 'non- indigenous' Chardonnay. The composition is as follows: Procanico 40% Grechetto 27% Verdello 15% Drupeggio & Malvasia 3% Chardonnay 15% .
The first vintage of this estate grown Orvieto Classico Castello della Sala to be produced was the 1990 vintage. With the 1997 vintage, the wine became an Orvieto DOC Classico Superiore (the new 'Superiore' denomination came into being the same year). The 'Superiore' denomination specifies that the yields per hectare must be much lower than for normal Orvieto Classico - the grapes are to be harvested only when in an advanced state of maturation, and the wine can be released only after the 1st March following the vintage. The Castello della Sala estate is located 11 miles from the town of Orvieto . The castle is an outstanding example of medieval military architecture, and its extensive vineyards enjoy an ideal micro-climate for the production of cooler weather wines such as whites and Pinot Noir.
It's paired with this scallop and I personally LOVE this dish the most! A brilliant idea of putting pumpkin sauce with the scallop! The heavenly taste is indescribable, it's beyond words!
Domaine Hamelin Beauroy Chablis 1er Cru 2011, France
This wine is paired with prawns
Mount Holdsworth Pinot Noir 2012
An exuberantly fruity Pinot Noir that offers bright strawberry and cherry aromas, as well as a finely etched medium-bodied palate of satisfying structure and length.
Wairarapa lies at the southern end of the North Island, not far from the capital, Wellington. Having grown up in the shadow of its most famous sub-district, Martin borough, Wairarapa is now developing its own reputation for characterful, conscientiously made wines as well as outstanding value for money. Mount Holds worth is an exclusive range produced for us by Matahiwi Estate, a family-owned winery in the heart of Wairarapa. All three varieties are sourced solely from the estate's single 80-hectare vineyard, allowing experienced winemaker Jane Cooper to fine-tune every aspect of production from bud-break to bottling.
Salmon cheese tart (which I think the chef will improvised this soon as we complained that the crust was too thick! but it tasted good tho) This wine is my favourite among all 5 wines :)
Castel Firmian Cabernet Sauvignon, Mezzacorona
Mezzacorona is a driving force behind the quality of Trentino wines, with a state-of-the-art winery handling fruit both from the company's own extensive vineyard holdings and from local growers. This Castel Firmian wine takes its name from a fifteenth-century castle overlooking the Rotaliano plain in Trentino.
This wine is paired with baked lamb. The taste of the lamb was okay for me but most of them love it. You should definitely try them out and be the judge
Chapel Hill Shiraz 2012
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2012 McLaren Vale Shiraz has a lovely nose of warm blueberries, blackberry preserves and licorice with hints of lavender and black pepper. Full-bodied and concentrated without being heavy on the palate, the abundant fruit is well framed by medium level, rounded tannins and racy acid. It finishes long.
This wine is paired with french duck. The taste of this wine is the strongest. Different people have different liking. I personally do not like the wine because the taste is too heavy for me.
